Abstract

This article discusses Pashtun folk epics. In particular, we see that many written literary works were created in the process of rewriting folk prose tales in poetic forms, which started in the second half of the XVIII century. Tales, narratives, and stories reworked by folk and professional poets in poetic (masnavi) form are still a huge heritage of the repertoire of folk oral and written art.
