Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to examine the mostar index value for the structural isomers of 44 alkanes.

Methodology: In this article we are calculating the mostar index value for the structural isomers of 44 alkanes. After finding the mostar value we are correlating the mostar value and the physicochemical properties (boiling point(BP), molar volumes(MV) at 20’c, heats of vaporisation (HV) at 25 ‘c, surface tension(ST) at 20’ c and melting point(MP) of 44 alkanes.

Findings: The findings of this study shows, the wiener value various from 28 to 35 in hexane. The variation of heptane in wiener values various from 42 to 56. The wiener values of octane isomer various from 58 to 84. In cyclohexane isomer also the variation occurs and is from 71 to 94. The wiener index is highly correlated for the five physic chemical properties viz, boiling points (BP), Molar volumes (MV), Molar refractions (MR), heats of vaporization (HP), Surface tensions (ST). Mostar index have two strong positive correlation value, three moderate positive correlation value and one weak positive correlation value.

Originality/value: In this study, we conclude that in what level the one of the distance based topological index mostar is predicted that the physico chemical properties of the structural isomers of the 44 alkanes.
